The Kapoor scion famous for his high-profile romances topped the survey conducted by the London weekly, Eastern Eye. "If the women didn't like me I would feel that something is going wrong, but it feels good. I do understand that the fans I have comprise mainly of women, it feels good to be wanted by so many women," said the 28-year-old actor.
Meanwhile, Eastern Eye showbiz editor Asjad Nazir, said that the actor claimed the title with a overwhelming margin.
"Usually it is a closely fought contest, where as this year there was one very clear winner. Winning by a large margin is remarkable when you consider the very high profile men who are in the list," said Asjad.
Ranbir, who made his acting debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's mega-budget film 'Saanwariya' has been going strong since his launch and has tasted commercial as well as critical success with films like 'Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani', 'Wake Up Sid' and 'Rajneeti'.
Bollywood hunk John Abraham narrowly missed out on the top spot by finishing second.Hrithik Roshan occupied the third spot while R&B star Jay Sean and Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar bagged the fourth and fifth spots.
Others to make it to the top ten included world champion boxer Amir Khan and the highest places new entry is 'X-Factor' finalist Zain Malik.
Recently, Bollywood beauty Katrina Kaif, rumoured to be romantically involved with Ranbir topped the Eastern Eye's list of the hottest women in the world, beating off competition from her contemporaries like Freida Pinto and Priyanka Chopra.
