Playing 40 was the toughest: Priyanka Chopra

From a 21-year-old to a 65-year-old, Priyanka Chopra portrays almost every crucial stage in a woman's life in her new thriller '7 Saat Khoon Maaf'. But she says stepping into the shoes of a 40-plus character was the toughest as she couldn't connect to the age group.

'The 20s was my age, so it was fine and not so difficult; 30s was something I could expect and somehow imagined. The 50s and 60s were still easier to do because you become a lot more older so your body language is like that.

'But the 40s was the middle period, so it was very difficult. You are not very old but you are not very young either. So to get that correctly was a task,' Priyanka, 28, told IANS in an interview.

The film, which will be showcased at Berlinale, is the big screen adaptation of Ruskin Bond's short story 'Susannah's Seven Husbands'.

When Vishal Bharadwaj, who had earlier adapted 'Blue Umbrella' by the grand old 'sahib' from Landour in Mussourie, decided to make a movie on it, the author expanded the few-page short tale into an 80-page novella and then into a 200-page full-length Hindi movie script.

'It's a very entertaining and wicked movie. It's amusing and not serious. It's a satire which makes it very interesting,' said the mainstream actress who proved her versatility as a highly ambitious model in issue-based movie 'Fashion' and won the National Award for her performance. She was a delight to watch in 'Kaminey'.

'7 Saat Khoon Maaf' is slated for a Feb 18 release. This is Priyanka's second film with Bharadwaj after the 2009 release 'Kaminey' and the actress has no qualms in saying that the director knows how to exploit her potential.

'Vishal has always brought out the best in me and this time too he has given me one of the most challenging parts an actor can get. I'm really grateful that he thought I was capable enough to do it and pull it off,' she said.

'There is a lot of responsibility on you when you work with a director like him. He is the kind of person who gives you the scene and says 'okay, do it now'. No instructions. After I give my first take, he tweeks it a little bit. So the responsibility as an actor is completely on you, which is very scary,' she added.

The film's promos hit the screens some time back and have created enough curiosity thanks to Priyanka's sinister look and menacing tone.

The actress says the role demanded a lot from her.

'It was emotionally and physically very draining and I used to take out all my tantrums on Vishal. We used to fight like anything. He used to yell at me and I used to yell back. But then we used to make up,' she said.

The former Miss World jumped on to the Bollywood bandwagon in 2003 with 'The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy'. In eight years, she has done commercial as well as author-backed sensitive roles too.

She is happy that people offer her powerful roles.

'The films that come to me are like that. Nobody offers me films where I don't have a good role. All my films have very power-packed parts for me. I'm grateful that people say that I'm the only one who can do those roles. It's never been a conscious effort, but obviously if I'm doing a film, I would want a good role in it,' specified Priyanka.

The actress will be seen in a different avatar in Anurag Basu's 'Barfee', which also stars Ranbir Kapoor.

Priyanka mimics SRK, he turns red hot

Usually, Shahrukh Khan mimics others and pokes fun on actors and filmmakers at award functions but this time the table has turned upside down and Priyanka Chopra done a mimicry of various actors and films  nominated for the best movies. She has enacted Salman Khan from ‘Dabangg’ and owned applause but she had to face the rage of King Khan when she copied him. The actress  enacted SRK from the film, ‘My Name Is Khan’. The act did not go well with Shahrukh and he shouted from the audience at Priyanka saying, ‘Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai’, Hamari Film Ka Mazak Uraya Ja Raha Hai’. The audience turned pin dropped silence with the entire drama.

The entire episode  of mimicry turned into a great laugher show when King Khan told Piggy Chops, “Tum pehli baar itni khoobsurat lag rahi ho” after she played him in MNIK. The actress earned compliment from SRK.

Priyanka mimicked characters from Dabangg, My Name is Khan, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, Peepli Live, Rajneeti and Golmaal 3.

Pooja Batra seeks divorce from her husband

Pooja Batra’s eight years old marriage  life hit the rock. She has filed a divorce  from her LA based husband, Dr. Sonu Ahluwalia, an orthopedic surgeon.

Says a highly placed source, "Pooja and her husband are separated and will be filing for divorce in Los Angeles. She moved out of Sonu's house a few months ago."

Pooja’s frequent visit to India gave rise to the speculation that there was trouble brewing in her marriage. Child issue is the main cause of trouble between the two. It is said that Sonu is desperate to become a father but Pooja is in denial mode as she does not want to ruin her body. She is trying to make a career in Hollywood but nothing is happening.

States another close insider, "Sonu is famous doctor in Los Angeles and a fantastic guy. He brought her a lovely home and a swanky car and was paying for her acting and make up classes. They may be splitting up. Pooja wants a career in Hollywood and has been going for auditions, though matters haven't been exactly going her way. When they came down to Mumbai in 2010, they looked very happy together."

According to the latest grapevine, when I-T officials raid Katrina Kaif’s house in Mumbai, she was not in the house. It was later known that she was in Ranbir Kapoor’s house spending quality time with the actor . Kat and Ranbir are couple as well as neighbour. Whenever, Kat’s get time from her shooting, she moves to Ranbir’s house to spend time with him. During the unfortunate day also, Kat was in the company of Ranbir

Kat’s neighbor confirms the news that the very morning, she spotted Kat with Ranbir. From Kat’s house an unaccounted wealth of around Rs. 6 crore in the form of jewellery, property and business ventures was discovered.

Shahrukh Khan’s next Yash Raj movie starts from April

The King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan’s next with his loyal Yash Raj Films is likely to go on floors this April. Directed by the King of romance Yash Chopra and still there are strong rumours of Katrina Kaif pairing opposite King Khan.

There’s no official confirmation on the date of the movie going on floors but a close hand reveals that its likely to be in April.

Shahrukh was last seen under Yash Raj banner in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ with Anushka Sharma.

Reliable sources swear that the Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan is in a special contract with the Indian premiere production house Yash Raj Films where he is suppose to do one film in a gap of two years at least.

We all are eagerly waiting to see what the magic of SRK is and Yashji has in store for us after ‘Veer Zara’.

Kareena and Saif should not get married, says Ajay

Ajay Devgn can be quite an entertainer when he chooses to be. The actor, who is known to be politically correct and rarely indulges in any kind of tongue and cheek antics, raised many eye-brows on Karan Johar’s talk show ‘Koffee with Karan’. In a moment of spontaneity, Ajay stunned all when he stated that Kareena and Saif should not get married .


The story goes that Karan in his ‘Rapid Fire Round` asked Devgn to render some piece of marital advice to Saif and Kareena. To which Devgn blurted that the two should not tie the knot.

As per sources, Ajay said, `Don`t get married`. But sadly, there was no explanation following Ajay’s advice. Being the rapid fire round, Karan did not ask Ajay to explain himself.

As to whether the statement will remain in the episode, a source told a daily, "Why not? That`s quite a statement, isn`t it?"

Well considering that Devgn is happily married, his piece of advice to Bebo and Saif sure shocked us all. However, a friend of the actor said, "Woh usne masti mein bola hoga,"

Shruti Haasan chooses Tamil film over B-Town flick

It's all quiet on Shruti Haasan front for the Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji promotions
Shruti Haasan has been conspicuous by her absence from the promotions of Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji. The singer-actress features in the movie opposite Emraan Hashmi.
While the rest of the cast Ajay Devgn, Omi Vaidya, Shazahn Padamsee, Shraddha Das and Hashmi have done their bit, Kamal Haasan's daughter has been silent about her project.
Says a source, "Considering her debut Hindi film Luck with Imran Khan did not fare well, she should have been looking forward to her second coming.
But strangely, she has chosen to be quiet about Madhur Bhandarkar's comic caper."
The actress appears in the film halfway through just before the interval. She essays the role of Niki, an industrialist's daughter, who is keen on bettering society through social work.
Buzz was that Shruti stayed away from the promotions as she felt that her role did not turn out be that great.
In the movie, Tisca Chopra, who essays the role of her stepmother, is there throughout the film. Almost till the interval, the audience wonders if Shruti is part of the cast or not!
Her spokesperson maintains, "Shruti's Tamil film opposite Suriya demanded all of her dates from December-end to February first week. She has been shooting in Chennai and overseas.
As a result, she couldn't promote DTBHJ as much as he would've wanted to. She was looking forward to promoting the film but was really upset that the promotional dates clashed with her Tamil movie schedule."
The spokesperson adds, "For her, working in a Madhur Bhandarkar's film was an honour, so she was really upset that she couldn't align herself to their publicity schedule."
"But," the source states, "it is indeed strange that Shruti did not fly down even for its music launch or any other function related to the flick even earlier."
Maybe for Shruti, it was a case of Dil Na Kehta Hai Ji!

Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji : Review

With Gulzar's beautiful song as its title, "Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji" (DTBHJ) surely gets one curious about what to expect. And while Madhur-reality-Bhandarkar venturing into rom-coms reminds you of the 'stuck-in-the-wrong-job' ad, he just about manages to pass here.

The film, as the promos suggest, is about three guys with varying amounts of testosterone, in search of love and lust. Naren Ahuja (Ajay Devgn), a divorced bank manager is still hopeful for a second innings. Milind Kelkar (Omi Vaidya), a self-confessed virgin is cautious of opening his innings only when he finds true love (yawn!). Abhay (Emraan Hashmi) is like an omnibus of all the characters that Hashmi has played in his previous films (they're all the same-a smooth talking slime ball). Naren invites the other two into his giant family home as tenants and to keep him from sinking into post-divorce loneliness. The trio breezes through the film by taunting, encouraging and even consoling each other over their respective love lives (yet too flippant for a "Chashme Baddoor" comparison).

The ladies in this film are hardly inspiring but are luckily marginalized by the leading men. Naren's female interest is his office intern, June Pinto (Shazahn Padamsee) who is squeaky, supremely enthusiastic and sums up to be quite annoying. The obvious age gap between this couple is conveyed by Naren's fumbling attempt at singing, dancing and drinking (which are the only determinants of youth?). It's also twisted that Devgn looks carefully chiseled, while (the supposedly 21-year-old) Shazahn has a million wrinkles marching around her wincing eyes each time she smiles (and she smiles at everything!).

Milind, on the other hand, doesn't have an age divide with his poetic muse RJ Gungun Sarkar (Shraddha Das), who he has a chance meeting with. But Gungun's obnoxiously shallow character manages to suck Milind dry. While the sharpest of the three, Abhay, predictably, manages to get around with a dozen women. The ones with sufficient dialogues include Anushka Narang (Tisca Chopra), an industrialist's trophy wife and her daughter Nikki Narang (Shruti Haasan), an heiress devoted to social causes (how imaginative!).

It's refreshing that DTBHJ strays away from Bollywood cliches, especially the way the three love stories conclude. No one has a change of heart or realizes their partner's true worth eventually. Ajay Devgn's earnest attempt at comedy is laudable (after Golmaal, there seemed little hope). Omi has his highs and lows but his idiotic manner of speech (courtesy 3 Idiots) fails to impress or amuse here. Emraan, for lack of anything else, could've kissed a few more women (as his fans usually have a single-point agenda for catching his movies). Telegu actress, Shraddha Das' screen presence justifies her character's career choice (being on radio and off screen). Shruti Haasan is a screen delight and resembles her mother Sarika characteristically.

Some dialogues in DTBHJ might induce a smile but it would iron out quickly (unlike Shazahn's wrinkles). The screenplay is fairly tight, but you might check your watch about 15 minutes before half time, hoping for an interval. Pritam's songs aren't worthy of humming or even finger drumming.

While Bhandarkar just might get away with this one, let's just hope this doesn't inspire other directors to jump out of their comfort genres. I mean we don't want KJo attempting the next sci-fi thriller, right?

SRK to play professor in KJo’s next

Is it possible that Karan Johar will shoot a film  bares his best buddy Shahrukh Khan? The answer is obviously ‘no’. It was once reported that Karan Johar  is launching Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter Aalia and David Dhawan’s son Varun in his new flick and also said that Shahrukh Khan  will be seen in a cameo but the truth is something else. King Khan will not be seen in a cameo but he will be playing a very vital role in the film.   

A source said, “Rumours about SRK acting in KJo`s next had been doing the rounds but Karan`s constant silence about the film started giving people the impression that SRK was only planning to produce the film.”

“But actually, both SRK and Karan are co-producing the film, which will launch newcomers Varun Dhawan , Siddarth Malhotra and Aaliya Bhatt. SRK will play the role of one of the professors in the college. The role will not be limited to a cameo; it will be full-fledged one,” the source said.

The film titled, ‘Student Of The Year’ and Karan is presently busy crafting SRK’s role. He has taken a month long break from his other assignments and headed for foreign countries to finish his script.

Ranbir cancels his first world tour

Ranbir Kapoor has finally cancelled his much publicized world tour due to lack of hit numbers under his arms. He is waiting for ‘Rockstar’ to release so that he can include those numbers in his dance show. His other colleagues accompanying him like Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Mallika Arora have a bountiful of hit numbers to charm the audience. . 

Last year, papa Kapoor told the media, "You can`t go on a world concert without a bank of songs . Now that Ranbir has a few chartbusters, it's the right time."

On the suggestion of his family members, Ranbir cancels his world tour. He is now waiting for AR Rahman to complete the music of his upcoming film , ‘Rockstar’.  

Confirming the news a source told, "This is the first time that Rahman has scored music for a Ranbir starrer. Ranbir going on a world tour without the Rahman songs makes no sense."

Hope, Ranbir gets enough grooving numbers to enthrall his audience.

Shahrukh, Madhuri together again

Shahrukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit are back together. No, the couple is not doing any new film together but both are going to shake their legs at the Filmfare awards event. They will perform together to some of their hit numbers.

The lady with a million dollar smile tweets, "Best of luck to everyone who have tests/ exams! Busy rehearsing for my performance with Shahrukh in Filmfare. Great JDJ episodes too..."

In the past, Madhuri and Shahrukh has given some hit numbers like Anjaam, Koyla, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam and Devdas.

Ranbir takes Katrina on a drive

Ranbir Kapoor and his ladylove Katrina Kaif was caught red-handed in Ranbir’s red color sports car. He drove around with his love in his two seater Audi R8. Recently, he quickly wrapped up the shooting of Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Rockstar’ in Gurgaon to catch with his lady. While he was returning to Mumbai , he find time to spend with Katrina Kaif .

A source reveals, "Ranbir is really fond of that car and loves to drive in it. This time, however, he got caught driving around Juhu with Kat by his side.

Since the windows didn't have sun film , Katrina's side profile was captured by an onlooker who passed the car."

The couple had some issues relating to his ‘Rockstar’ actress Nargis Fakhri but both sat down together and sorted down the differences. Now they are very much together .

Deepika suffers nervous breakdown

Deepika Padukone is a few films old. She is still in the learning process and is experiencing many new things which she has not come across during shooting in her past films. Shooting with an ace director like Prakash Jha and in a totally new city Bhopal proves little tight for Dips. She almost felt nervous breakdown shooting in a college in Bhopal for ‘Aarakshan’.  

“Bhopal is foreign territory for Deepika. She hasn't shot for a film in the city before. Also, working with Jha was a first-time experience for her. His style of working is very different from the directors she's worked with in the past," quoted a source as saying.

The actress felt nervous on seeing the huge crowd, “Deepika reached the production area, which was in the backyard of the college. Not many students had come in. The crowd was just about trickling in. In matter of couple of hours, the place was packed with students and everyone had gathered to see her shoot,” added the source.

Priyanka Chopra: The Queen Of Realty

There is a saying that if you do well for people, people will do well for you. Bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra tried to take that too seriously, we recon. It was just few months back when she was seen appearing on a commercial issued in public interest that requested citizens of India to pay their taxes on time. Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar were amongst the other actors who were featured in the twenty minute television commercial. Priyanka was the perfect ambassador for the Income Tax department of India but it seems that the tides have turned and now she is one of the top tax evasion suspects on their list.
It was just few days back, when Income Tax officers conducted a raid on the Dostanahottie’s house at the suburbs of Versova. Piggy Chops’ daddy dearest was not spared as well. Her parental house at the suburbs of Lokhandwala was also raided. It has been reported that the I.T officials suspect her for tax evasion. They were suspecting that she did not pay the taxes liable for assignments, appearances and endorsements. Officials are now looking into her income statement and trying to find if there is any glitch.
Chopra was considered one of the highest tax payers and biggest youth icons of Bollywood and that is why she was approached for the Television commercial, said a top level I.T officer. But he also mentioned that the department does not spare anyone on suspicion. It would conduct enquiries on anyone and everyone.

Priyadarshan to film new movie in UAE

 Bollywood filmmaker Priyadarshan is currently in Abu Dhabi to shoot a comedy movie based on the Indian diaspora living in the Gulf region.
The movie – titled ‘The Arabian , the Camel and Madhavan Nair’ – stars Mohanlal, Laxmi Rai and Bhavana, and is an Emirati-Indian joint project under the Jancos Entertainment banner. It is being produced by Ashok Kumar, Jamal Al Nuaimi and Naveen Shashidharan.
Priyadarshan, who boasts of 81 movies under his belt, including the National Award winner best film ‘Kanjeevaram’ (2008), says this venture will show the world the ‘untouched beauty and grandeur’ of Abu Dhabi’s landscape and vibrant culture.
The filmmaker said he wants to show the world how ‘different’ and ‘visually rich’ was this part of the world.
‘Abu Dhabi is untouched by the global film industry. I want to show the world its magnificence and richness,’ the director said, thanking the Abu Dhabi Film Commission (ADFC) for offering the necessary support to his venture.

Kareena Kapoor to don traditional attire in the 'Bodyguard' remake

After sporting chic Western attire for her role as a hairstylist in Karan Johar's Short Term Shaadi, Kareena Kapoor will go ethnic for Atul Agnihotri's Bodyguard.
She plays a don's beti in the latter and will mostly Indian traditional clothes including bright kurtas with lots of oxidised jewellery. Bodyguard, directed by Siddique, is an adaptation of a hit Malayalam flick .

Bebo has been styled by Manish Malhotra for both films. Says a source, "MM has given her a very different look in Bodyguard, as she plays a college-going girl who is also a don's daughter.
So she wears bright and colourful Pakistani long kurtas with block print salwars. Kareena is known to be a fashion icon having started the Geet kurtis in Jab We Met.
This will start a new trend for youngsters too of long Pakistani kurtas with high slits and big ghera salwars."
The Kapoor gal will accessorise with silver antique oxidised jewellery, beaded bags and accessories. "There are lots of metallic and thread work bangles to add an Indian touch.

Manish sourced the accessories from Pune, Delhi and Mumbai. Most of the outfits, she will wear, have an embroidered patch with crochet and threadwork. 
Kareena has kept her hair long, straight and simple in the film," adds the source.

INSPIRATION

The original Malayalam flick revolves around a young man Jayakrishnan who adulates anyone with a trace of heroism and offers to be their bodyguard. 
A business tycoon Ashokan hires him to follow and safeguard his only daughter Ammu. He follows her everywhere.
To distract him, she calls him from an unknown number claiming to love him. Years later, Jayakrishnan realises that his real lover is Ammu, who's waited for him for so many years faithfully and marries her.

Shweta assaulted by ex-husband again

Bigg Boss 4 winner and television star Shweta Tiwari has been assaulted by ex-hubby Raja Chaudhary again, reported a tabloid. Shweta lodged a complaint accusing Raja of physical and verbal abuse.

Senior Inspector R Prabhu of Malad police station said, "Raja Chaudhary forcefully entered Shweta's house and assaulted her and her friend Abhinav Kohli. As per court order, Raja is not supposed to go to Shweta's residence. But he breached the order. We have booked him for assaulting, trespassing, and abusing Shweta and Kohli. He already has a number of cases against him, some at Oshiwara police station. And now we will extern him."

Shweta Tiwari has demanded police protection after continuous harassment. Raja came to Shweta's house and abused her and tried to take away their daughter with him. Earlier he had barged into the house in October when Shweta was in the Bigg Boss house.

The police tried to find Raja but he is absconding. He has fled from his Lokhandwala residence.

Preity tries to break world record, fails

Preity Zinta has taken the first step towards her television debut. She has begun shooting for the promos of Guinness World Records Ab India Todega, the show that she will host for Colors.
The actress shot at Film City and tried to break an international record herself!
"Australia ka Derek Boyer ka Guinness World Record aaj main todoongi," she exclaims in the promo while pulling a truck. 
She later states: "Chaliye main naa kar saki toh kya hua? India kar ke dikhadega. Ab garv se har Hindustani bolega, Guinness World Record Ab India Todega." 

Spirit of new India

The desi version of the international show, produced by Miditech, will air later in the year. 
According to the channel, Preity's never-say-die attitude echoes the concept of the show and represents the spirit of new India that is willing to take on the world and prove its place under the sun.
The dimpled star will also guide the Indian contestants who try to break international records and compete with  world record holders. 
She will also encourage viewers to take the plunge to make and break records.
Preity has been styled by B-Town designer Surily Goel for the show. She says, "I am excited to style Preity for her television debut.
A show like Guinness World Records will be a great platform to experiment with various looks. Her personality is quite sporty, energetic and adventurous, and hence, I will style her keeping her personality in mind. 
I have given her a waistcoat over a casual shirt teamed with boots and gloves especially for the promo shoot."

Katrina Kaif has 6 crore unaccounted wealth

The Income Tax sleuths' raids at Katrina Kaif's residence and office on suspicion of tax evasion has ended. The raids have revealed that the actress has an unaccounted wealth  of around Rs. 6 crore in the form of jewellery, property and business ventures.

However, the raids at Priyanka Chopra's  residence have to be extended by a day, as her mother Madhu Chopra, who handles her finances, was out of station. Sources said that the IT officials are still verifying the documents and bank accounts seized from her residence. The lockers in her house are yet to be opened.

Shahrukh bonds with Salman’s brother

Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan are strong rivals but King Khan shares a great rapport with Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan. At the recently held Filmfare nominations bash, Arbaaz Khan and Shahrukh Khan were seen hugging and greeting Arbaaz Khan. Arbaaz hugged SRK back. Moreover, Arbaaz is in upbeat mood these days for 'Dabnagg' success.

After SRK, Arbaaz moved to Aishwarya Rai  Bachchan and greeted her and both exchanged pleasantries. Salman might be rivals with some in the industry but his family maintains friendship and good relationship with those he shares cold vibes.

Katrina, Salman voted most preferred sex partners

In a survey conducted by a leading condom brand, Bollywood hunk Salman Khan and gorgeous Katrina Kaif has been voted as the most preferred sex partners. The survey has been conducted between age groups, 18-45 years across seven cities in the country.

The question that was asked in the survey was, “If you have to engage in casual sex, who would you prefer as a partner?`

People named various personalities from different walks of life but Salman Khan  and Katrina Kaif made to the top. The males prefer Katrina Kaif the most desirable sex partner and the females want Salman Khan as their sex partner.

In spite being married, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan grabbed the second place followed by sexy Bipasha Basu. Leggy Deepika Padukone, tennis star Sania Mirza, sensuous Sonam Kapoor also won suitable votes.

Shahid spend the night at Priyanka’s house, I-T officials

Little did the Income tax official know that when they would raid Priyanka Chopra’s house, they would be greeted not by Priyanka Chopra or her servant but her boyfriend and actor  Shahid Kapoor. So what Shahid is doing in Piggy Chops house early in the morning? When Shahid opened the door, he was wearing shorts. From his dress-up and gesture, it was clear that he spend the night at Priyanka’s residence.

For a moment, they thought that they have knocked the wrong door and it is not the sixth floor apartment in Classic Building on Yari Road. That Shahid and Priyanka were great friends strike one of the officials and they realized that they were at the right door. Shahid did not interfere on the matter and he left after getting dressed.

"Shahid was very much at Priyanka's house, but he wasn't in the buff and nor did he open the door. She has servants, so why would he open the door? Shahid had spent the night at Priyanka's place and she had come from walking the ramp at a fashion show for Shabana Azmi. The two are trying to spend as much time together before PC starts the promotions for her movie  Saat Khoon Maaf," said a source close to Kapoor. "Shocked as we were, we knew we had a raid to carry out and that's precisely what we did. It was meant to be a swift operation and security personnel in the building were not given a chance to warn the actor that we were on the way up," said an I-T official.

“If I woke up as Priyanka Chopra one day, I would wonder what I was doing in Shahid Kapoor's bedroom and then walk over to my flat in the next wing," actor Shahid Kapoor had famously said on a popular chat show.

Sameer Soni and Neelam ties the knot

In a quiet wedding, model and actor Sameer Soni married to former actress turned jewelry designer, Neelam Kothari. When Sameer was in the Bigg Boss house, marriage  was on his mind. Finally, yesterday the couple  entered into wedlock at Taj Land’s end in Bandra..

Present on the occasion was only close relatives and friends. The newly marriedcouple will throw a grand wedding reception on January 26.

"We will have a very quiet wedding ceremony with just our parents and siblings. We will have a wedding reception for our friends Jan 26," said Soni.

Neelam runs a jewelry store named ‘Neelam Jewels’. The couple first met each other at Ekta Kapoor’s bash three years back and fell in love.

Deepika to act opposite Rajinikanth

It’s a lifetime opportunity to get an offer to play a lead role opposite the south superstar, Rajinikanth. Deepika Padukone who has kick started her career few years back is fortunate to get an offer from the south filmmaker. But the biggest hassle in the way is dates. Her diary is almost packed with films  with top-notch actors and filmmakers but at the same time rejecting Rajini was also at all acceptable to Deepika as she is a huge fan of the superstar.

She is now trying to adjust her dates. A source said, "Deepika has been offered the film and a meeting with its producers also went off well. The film has Rajinikanth in a double role. The makers felt that Deepika was perfect for the lead role and that she would fit the character very well.

Unfortunately, the producers of the film want to take it on floors this year and Deepika has her hands full with Aarakshan, Desi Boys and a new film with Saif Ali Khan to be directed by Homi Adajania apart from a few other projects.

Now she is trying hard to adjust her dates so she doesn't miss out on a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with Rajnikanth."

When contacted, Deepika Padukone said, "I am really honoured to be approached to act with Rajnikanth."

The actress's spokesperson however was quick to add, "We have been approached but it is too early to talk about it. We need to work on dates as many films are in combination with a lot of senior actors . It is not an easy decision. Of course we would like to be part of Rajnikanth's film. It is a huge honour."

Priyanka Chopra ignores Ranbir Kapoor

They have shared screen space in one film but now they turned ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ in true sense. Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor almost ignored each other at the fashion show. They gave each other the cold shoulder, did not see eye to eye or shared pleasantries.

Priyanka was engrossed chatting with other Bollywood friends like Karan Johar , Shilpa Shetty, Manish Malhotra, Sameera Reddy, Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Tusshar Kapoor and Prateik but snubbed Ranbir.

A source said, "Everyone was cheering each other. Priyanka, Karan, Manish and Ranbir stood near the monitor and watched others walk the ramp, but even then, there was not a word exchanged. They were both behaving as though the other was invisible. PC was seen chatting with her Don director Farhan and her Krrish hero Hrithik but pointedly kept a distance from RK. One was left wondering what has gone wrong between the two actors ."

Says an insider, "Ranbir and Priyanka had shared a special relationship during the shooting of their film, and that hadn't gone down well with Katrina Kaif and Shahid Kapoor (their respective partners) so they are now giving each other the cold shoulder."

Well, it’s hard to say what really went wrong between the two.

Gauri Khan angry with Shahrukh

These days Gauri Khan is not talking nicely to her superstar husband, Shahrukh Khan. She complains that Shahrukh is taking too much stress these days and not at all taking care of his health . He neglects his health and not having proper sleep. He has been traveling a lot these days and hardly takes rest.

“I know that I am traveling too much these days, I am shuttling between time zones and continents. I do lose track of time once in a while, but I don’t ever get sick because of jet-lag. Everybody complains of sleep issues due to excessive travel, but I’ve yet to experience that,” says SRK.

Believe it or not, King Khan sleeps three to fours hours a days and he thinks it is sufficient for him. “Yes, three-four hours of sleep is just enough for me. Besides, it’s me who has chosen this kind of life. So like everything, it will have its share of good and bad things that it brings along. And I couldn’t thank God enough for the kind of life he has given me,” quips Shahrukh

But SRK has got a loving and caring family . Whenever, he gets time and sleeps, Gauri switch off the alarm and nobody disturbs or wakes him up until he wakes up himself.

'Hrithik's best chemistry with Barbara - suzanne

THE usually reticent and shy Suzanne Roshan opened up on Karan Johar's chat show, Koffee with Karan that airs tomorrow.
She spoke about Hrithik's co-stars Kareena Kapoor and Barbara Mori (both of who were reported to have shared a 'special' relationship with the actor) and even told Karan that she finds Siddharth Mallya, the son of United Breweries' owner Vijay Mallya, the hottest male today.
Admits that Hrithik shares the best on-screen chemistry with Barbara Mori and Kareena Kapoor
Says a source close to Karan, "No one expected Suzanne to be so candid about Hrithik's reported link-ups."
"When Karan asked her about the female star Hrithik shared the best chemistry with, prompt came her reply Barbara Mori and Kareena Kapoor.
Even Karan was shocked to see her being so frank about the women Hrithik was allegedly linked up with,"  the source said.
While there were rumours of Kareena and him sharing a special friendship before his marriage (during the time of Yaadein filming), Hrithik and Barbara had been linked when they were shooting for his film, Kites.
Sharing his thoughts on love, Hrithik said, "Love is about bringing out the other person's individuality. What has gone wrong with the love today is that people have started to possess.
If I love her (Suzanne), I should let her do what makes her smile and not impose my opinions."
With Karan, Hrithik and Suzanne spoke about their marriage, the camaraderie they share, how they make up and a lot more.
Suzanne even talked about how both of them make up after fights. "Hrithik and I always make up in the funniest way.
First we fight, and then a moment later we crack up on either something silly that one of us would have said. If not that, I start laughing at how Hrithik's expression is, when he is angry."

Aamir in Yash Raj at last..!!

Bollywood people rejoice.. Folks this should be the great tinsel town unite as Aamir has ‘perfectly’ poached into B-town Badshah SRK territory and it played yesterday at Bolywood’s premiere studio the Yash Raj.. King Khan loyal Yash Raj had bowed down to the Perfectionist Aamir’s demand and a few where witness to this phenomenon which happened yesterday in Mumbai.

As the speculations of Aamir doing a Yash Raj film keep on popping and deleting again and again from the media scene, yesterday Aamir graced the silver screen of YRF editing studio………. So what’s cooking hmmmmmm.? So the YRF mega romancer starring SRK which will be helmed by the proficient veteran Yashji will also have Aamir….? Whether the mighty Khans of tinsel town has suppressed their egos and agreed to agree on professional terms. What was Aamir doing at YRF editing studios yesterday…?

Well we should now break the suspense and give you the truth… we all know Aamir beloved Kiran Rao’s helming debut ‘Dhobi Ghat’ became the talk of the media after its achievement in Toronto. Well the press was eagerly waiting to watch the film and yesterday the press screening of the movie was arranged for the media. Obviously the movie ‘in’ news got tremendous response where everyone from the fraternity flocked the venue in the suburbs and within minutes the press screening was full.

In fact some of them which included known seniors were asked to leave as there were no seats available…. But Aamir who always considers immediately came into action and a show was arranged at YRF studio which was attended by those who missed the previous bus.

So in a way for the press Aamir figured on Yash Raj screen after ‘Fanna’ in 2006. Before that he worked for Yash Raj in ‘Parampara’ while Fanna was a dud for critics and a hit at B.O. ‘Parampara’ didn’t excite any.

We all hope that the ‘parampara’ (read tradition) continues and Aamir does appear on other silver screens for Yash Raj very soon.

For the time the actor producer is closely watching the response to his wife’s directorial debut ‘Dhobi Ghat’ which is believed to be getting lapped up by rasikas of cinema. And for the public whether there will be any extension to this development need to be seen…

'Dhobi Ghat' a stunning movie - movie review

Film: 'Dhobi Ghat'; Cast: Aamir Khan, Prateik Babbar, Monica Dogra, Kriti Malhotra; Director: Kiran Rao; Rating: **** 1/2

Every year literally hundreds of thousands throng to the city of dreams, Mumbai. To cover so many dreams in a small span of an-hour-and-a-half calls for some brilliant filmmaking. And watching 'Dhobi Ghat' will make you realise that there indeed have been very few debuts as stunning as this one.

'Dhobi Ghat' is the story of five characters - Yasmin (Kirti Malhotra), Arun (Aamir Khan), Shai (Monica Dogra), Munna (Prateik Babbar) and the city of Mumbai. After a one night stand with Arun, who is a painter, Shai, an investment banker from America and an amateur photographer, obsesses over him, while her dhobi Munna pines for Shai.

Arun, meanwhile, discovers a few tapes in his flat from the previous tenant and, watching them, falls in love and find a muse in the woman who has made them - Yasmin. Each of the character is thus looking for something in one another, while the fifth character, Mumbai, simply stares blankly at them without comment or prejudice.

One of the best things about the film is its casting. Each of the actors complement the film, its director, and the city of Mumbai perfectly. Each is believable in his or her own garb. Prateik is bound to become the heartthrob of the generation, while Kirti Malhotra's innocence has to be seen to be believed. Real life singer Monica brings out the uncertainty of her character beautifully.

The only one who is a little out of place, and hence the small sore point of the film is actor Aamir Khan. He begins shakily and is self conscious, unable as he is perhaps of shaking away two decades of Bollywood's acting baggage. By the end of it though, he manages to get into the film's rhythm and gives a believable performance.

It is hence not Kiran Rao's luck that she got superstar husband Aamir to act in the film, but Aamir's luck that he is in this film, which will go down in the history of cinema as one of the best character sketches of a city and its people. Very few people in the world have sketched any city with such tender love, care and affection. And to add to the lilting melody that is Mumbai in the film is composer Gustavo Santaolalla who gives a haunting background score.

Director Kiran Rao brilliantly manages to find a physical representation of Mumbai city, in the old woman who blankly stares at all the characters, but says nothing. The metaphor is simple but powerful - Mumbai is a dying, decaying city, but one that is definitely alive and watches over all.

And like the character of Arun who becomes a voyeur into the life of Yasmin, it is Kiran Rao that has played voyeur on the city of Mumbai.

Another good thing about the film is that nowhere does it slacken or lose pace. On the contrary, it unfolds almost like a mystery, like a rose bud, only to scintillate the senses in full bloom. It thus might become the low budget indie Indian film that will finally make money like big-budget Bollywood fare.

In the end though, that wouldn't matter much to the audience who will find themselves somewhere in the film. Each one of the characters in the film is like Mumbai, and Mumbai is like each one of us who inhabit it.

Veena fully drunk and cozy with Hrishant

Pakistani actress Veena Malik was again in the news for all wrong reasons. After Asmit Patel, she has captured model Hrishant Goswami. Buzz is that Veena seduces Hrishant Goswami and both were indulged in snuggling in the Bigg Boss house.

After the grand finale, Salman Khan threw a bash at his apartment. In the party, Veena and Hrishant were so much drunk that they could not control themselves and got cozy in the presence of other guests. Unable to handle their movements, the two decided to move to their rooms.

The two left together from the party and asked their driver to take them to the nearby Dukes resort.

Confirming the news, a source said, “Both Hrishant and Veena were very drunk and they had already started getting intimate at the party. We later learned that they asked the driver to take them to Dukes.”

“Veena and Hrishant were seemingly too busy making out that they lost the track of where they were going. They only came to their senses when they found themselves parked outside Dukes Company in Chembur in Mumbai. Fir kya tha? Bechaara driver. They fired him and wound up going to their respective put ups,” added the source.

First Ashmit and then Hrishant, it seems Veena Malik’s list doesn’t end.

Shah Rukh Khan nd Kareena pair up for classic ‘Angoor’ remake

Shahrukh Khan  and Kareena Kapoor team up for the classic remake of ‘Angoor’. It was one of the funniest movies of the 80’s by Gulzar . Shahrukh Khan will essay the role of Sanjeev Kumar and Kareena Kapoor will step into the shoes of Moushumi Chatterjee. The film will go on floor this year end.

The movie will be directed by Rohit Shetty. After ‘Golmaal’ series, Rohit has taken a tough task to remake the laughter riot of the 80’s with scriptwriter Sajid-Farhad. The original was inspired from Shakespeare’s play ‘A Comedy of Errors’.

Confirming the news, a source said, “After he made Golmaal 3, everyone was wondering what Rohit Shetty’s next plans were. People were guessing if he would make a fourth sequel but the director surprised everyone by choosing to work on an Angoor remake. That he decided to work with Shah Rukh Khan on this came as a real shocker. It seems that Rohit is now wanting to work only with A-listers,”

Well, making audience laugh is a tough job and it is even tougher to remake a classic comic film like ‘Angoor’. Hope, he will able to give his audience another dose of laughter.

Abhi keeps Kat waiting for Ash

Abhishek Bachchan is a doting husband but he will keep Katrina Kaif waiting for his own benefits is not something possible. Katrina failed to give dates for Rajkumar Santoshi’s film opposite Abhishek Bachchan and hence Santoshi put the Abhishek-Katrina starrer film at the backburner and started working on his next project that stars the husband-wife pair, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Abhishek and Aishwarya have starred in number of films together but for the first time, they will be seen in a laughter riot. The film titled, ‘Ladies And Gentleman’. The project is on board.

Katrina is so busy with her films she has signed in the past that she failed to give dates to the filmmaker. While the benefit went to Ash-Abhi, the couple will again get to share screen space and spend time together. 

Bipasha refutes break-up with John

In the social networking site, Bipasha Basu has strongly denied splitting up with long time beau, John Abraham. She in a loud and clear voice declared that everything is fine between them and they are very much together.
