Vidhu Vinod Chopra as a producer returns with Ferrari Ki Sawaari after the hugely successful 3 Idiots. Vidhu Vinod Chopra has decided that Sharman Joshi will play the lead role, in Ferrari Ki Sawaari.

Vinod has taken a bold decision by going with Sharman Joshi as his choice for the lead role, but again Vinod has been known to make such bold choices. In the past he decided to produce Parineeta, with Saif. Vinod decided to give Saif the chance to play a lead role, when no one else in the industry was ready to take such a risk and he was only doing ensemble films, Vinod gave Saif his solo hero project. Vinod has also done the same with Sanjay Dutt during the MunnaBhai series.
Similarly, Vinod has this time decided to place his bet on Sharman, even while everyone has been raving about Sharman as an actor, Vinod has actually put his trust in Sharman and picked Sharman from the ensemble film, 3 Idiots.

However, that seems highly unlikely now especially after an episode of 'Koffee With Karan' featuring Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone that has not gone down too well with Rishi Kapoor and his family members.

By now its common knowledge that both Rishi and Neetu Kapoor are mighty upset with Karan for the way he conducted that particular episode of 'Koffee with Karan'. Now Rishi has even gone ahead and given young Ayan an ultimatum that he either chooses to work with Ranbir or Karan. Deepika does a steamy hot item-number for 'Dum Maro Dum'

Dusky beauty Deepika Padukone is reported to be doing a steamy hot item-number in the Abhishek Bachchan starring movie ‘Dum Maaro Dum’, which is directed by Rohan Sippy.

After Katrina sizzled in the hot item number Sheila Ki Jawani from ‘Tees Maar Khan’, Deepika will take on with her arch rival with a sexier item-number, Dum Maaro Dum, a super hit song from the 1971 hit ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’, starring Dev Anand and Zeenat Aman.
The song will be remixed by Pritam and will have lyrics by Jaideep Sahni, and will be played towards the end of the movie, and is said to be crucial for the script.
“This climax song will be shot at Mehboob studio, where a jungle set will be put up and will be choreographed by Ceaser. A lot of laser will be used. It will have a hip hop-cum-rave party set-up, but Deepika won’t be seen as a hippie,” told a source.

Deepika is presently gearing up for the release of ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’, opposite Abhishek Bachchan, which releases on December 3.

Talking to reporters, an insider revealed, “Salman Khan is showing big interest in the composition of his next film. Sallu Bhai is seen composing with Pritam on the sets of the film. Since, ‘Ready’ will be Salman`s first release post ‘Dabangg’, the actor is making sure that the music of the film captures the heart of his audiences. For this Salman is personally getting involved in the making of the music for ‘Ready’."
The handsome and eligible bachelor does have an ear for good music and this was quite evident from his deep involvement with the participants on the sets of a singing reality show while he was promoting his film ‘Dabangg’.

"I have signed Anees Bazmee's film, 'Hera Pheri 4'. We will start shooting next month," Abhishek said.

After three back-to-back action films - Mani Ratnam's 'Raavan', Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se' and Abhinay Deo's 'Game', the actor has opted for a change and signed a comedy film.

"I am not a calculating actor. I don't choose the genres," Abhishek told reporters in Mumbai.

The 'Hera Pheri' series started with the funny trio of Akshay Kumar, Suneil Shetty and Paresh Rawal playing the lead in the first two films. But the third one will have a different director as well as actors Sanjay Dutt and Nana Patekar with Abhishek.

The film will be produced by Feroz Nadiadwala and directed by Anees Bazmee. The earlier sequels were directed by Priyadarshan. "It is going to be one of the funniest comedies," Abhishek said.

The title of Barbara’s next is very similar with the Yash Raj Films new project. This movie stars Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif and it is titled as Mere Brother ki Dulhan. Sources have revealed that both the projects have similar story lines.

My Brother’s Wife theme is adulterous, which deals with a women’s affair with her husband’s brother. However, Yash Raj Films has toned down the same version. Yash Raj has made a film on a guy (Imran) who falls for his brother’s (Ali Zafar) fiancee (Katrina). Mere Brother ki Dulhan is still under production, while Barbara’s movie is set to release in India soon.

 “We heard about the film Mere Brother ki Dulhan. The title did make us think that the theme of their film maybe similar to out movie, Spanish Beauty. However, we do not know their script or storyline. Anyway, we have tweaked the original story of Spanish Beauty to suit the Indian taste and the film will now reflect the triangular relationship between a husband, wife and the husband’s brother.”

‘Deepika (who is 5′ 9′) is the tallest of the ladies I have worked with. I could finally look at my co-actress in the eyes and didn’t have to look down upon her. It was really nice and tall working with her,’ Abhishek, who is 6′ 3′, told reporters here.

Abhishek and Deepika, along with director Ashutosh Gowariker and other cast and crew members, were here Monday to promote ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’, a film based on the Chittagong Uprising of the 1930s. The film releases Friday.

Dressed in a grey jacket and a pair of jeans to beat the Delhi chill, Abhishek looked dapper with a pair of shades and humbly responded to flying kisses from young girls at a shopping mall .

Responding to a query regarding rumours that she has turned down an offer to work with Shahid Kapoor due to height issues, Deepika said: ‘If that was the case, I won’t be doing any movies at all!’

‘If actors suit the character and the film, it doesn’t matter if the girl is taller than the guy…So really, if directors start getting bothered by my height, I won’t get any film at all.’

Indian actress Freida Pinto, who made it to Hollywood after the Oscar winning ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, says women are not treated like dolls in Bollywood and she is certainly game for a Hindi movie if a good one comes along.

‘Women are not treated like dolls in Bollywood,’ Freida said addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the 41st International Fim festival of India (IFFI), where her film ‘You Will Meet a Tall, Dark Stranger’ directed by Woody Allen, is being screened.

Freida also accused the media of sensationalising her comments on Bollywood.

‘I never said I don’t want to be in Bollywood… Bollywood is like a big celebration. It is wrong to say Bollywood treats women like dolls,’ Freida said, when a reporter asked her to clarify her statement to the media earlier, where she had allegedly said she wanted to avoid roles in masala movies and Bollywood films per se.

‘The media picks and chooses what people say. There are slots in newspaper which they need to fill with sensation. You put people like us in a tough position,’ said Pinto.

Claiming that ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ and ‘Sholay’ remained her favourite films, Pinto said she was certainly game for a Bollywood role if one came by and if it was good enough.

She also chided the media for equating Bollywood to Indian cinema. ‘Bollywood is a part of Indian cinema. There are other alternative cinemas in India too,’ Freida said.

She has also had enough of big budget films – ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and the Woody Allen venture – for the moment and now wants to do ‘realistic cinema’ for a change.

‘A film has to satisfy you. I don’t want to do that kind of a film again right now. After two big budget films, I am looking at doing more realistic cinema,’ Freida said.

She said names in cinema like Stephen Spielberg were not a big draw for her and that she would love to work even with debutants who were making films on interesting subjects.

Actor Sanjay Dutt has joined the star cast of Salman Khan and Govinda for the sequel to ‘Partner’, which will be directed by David Dhawan.

The movie will be produced by Sohail Khan and is written by Sanjay Chhel. It will go on floors in June 2011.

The decision to include Sanjay Dutt was taken last week, as the mantra at Sohail Khan Productions’ office is ‘Ek se bhale do, do se bhale teen’.

“With Sanjay in, the movie promises to be a laughing riot, even better than ‘Partner’, which starred Katrina. But the heroine for ‘Partner 2’ is yet to be finalized,” told a source.

“We definitely need one bigger actor in ‘Partner 2’. We have set our minds on Sanjay. However, I need to flesh out the role very well so that I am justified in signing him. We are working on that now,” told Sohail Khan.

Sanjay Dutt is presently involved in his home production movie ‘Rascals’.

Shahrukh Khan: Facing criticism For Hosting Dinner Party For A Pakistani TV Channel In London

 Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan is being criticized by the Shiv Sena (SS) and the Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) chiefs for hosting a dinner party in London on Sunday for a Pakistani TV Channel where along with the dinner there is a fashion show and a dance show scheduled to be held.

The news appeared in the mouthpiece of the Shiv Sena called Saamna. Shahrukh Khan has been given the wrath of the party chief as it says that while the country is expressing deep pain and paying homage to the martyrs and the victims on the second anniversary of 26/11 attack on Mumbai, how could he go and grace the occasion in support of Pakistan?

Shahrukh Khan, who also has plans of supporting the flood victims of Pakistan, has faced the criticism of going in to support the neighboring country despite such big pains caused by it to India.

Shahrukh Khan who has arrived just recently from Berlin to Mumbai is scheduled to participate in the song and dance show to be held in London on Sunday.

Earlier too there were protests by the SS and MNS as Shahrukh Khan had expressed his views against the exclusion of the Pakistani players from the IPL.

‘They’d get so scared if they saw me like this. Though my lips are going back to their normal size, they’re still not fully normal. I don’t want my sons to see me until I look like myself again,’ said Hrithik.

The actor, who is married to Sussanne, has two sons – Hrehaan, 4, and Hridaan, 2.

‘This kind of attack happens in the rarest of rare cases. But it happened to me. Anything could’ve happened if I hadn’t rushed to the hospital,’ said the actor who was rushed to the hospital Sunday and was discharged on Monday.

The actor was on his way to a very dear friend’s funeral when it happened. In fact, so alarming were the symptoms that Hrithik just rushed to the hospital.

‘I was driving to a friend’s funeral when the attack suddenly happened. It just makes you so grateful for the gift of life.’

The 36-year-old had gotten so frightened that he had checked into the hospital alone.

‘It was crazy! I’d have been frightened to death at what I saw in the mirror. Within minutes my lips had swollen to 10 times the normal size. Luckily for me, even in that shocking state, I remembered Eddie Murphy in a film where his lips had swollen to monstrous proportions because of an allergy. So I knew it wasn’t fatal,’ he said.

Hrithik was immediately able to identify that it was an allergy caused by a new antibiotic he had taken half-an-hour earlier.

‘That was the only alien substance introduced in my body. I told my doctors about it. And they were immediately able to locate the source of allergy. Such violent allergy attacks usually happen in the west after eating prawns.

‘I must be the only person in the universe to get so sick after taking an antibiotic pill,’ said the actor who has earned rave reviews for his performance as paraplegic patient in ‘Guzaarish’.

Hrithik is overwhelmed by the response to his performance in ‘Guzaarish’.

‘I guess this (the hospitalization) was god’s way of balancing things out. I was getting much love for my performance it had to be counter-balanced.’

‘Guzaarish’ has taken Hrithik to new heights of self-realization. ‘How can one not be affected when you meet these people who are paralyzed for life? Their spirit and joie de vivre just overwhelms you. I’ll always be grateful to Sanjay Bhansali for giving me the opportunity to do this film.’

”Guzaarish’ is a different scale and space. The closest I’ve been to this space is ‘Jodhaa-Akbar’. It’s an entirely different experience when you know you’re affecting lives beyond entertainment.’
